Computer scientist, adventurer, and storyteller with a passion for capturing and witnessing the world's complexity through both experience and applied computing. From optimizing anti-poaching patrol routes in Mongolia to documenting nomadic traditions on the steppe, my goal has been to create technologies that solve real problems while telling stories that bridge cultural divides.

My portfolio represents the intersection of technical innovation and human connection — showcasing projects that leverage computer science to protect our planet, and photography that chases parallels in our shared humanity.

Anti-Poaching Route Optimization

I am currently developing a metaheuristic optimization algorithm that strategically maps patrol routes in Mongolia's Tost Tosonbumba Nature Reserve to protect endangered snow leopards, utilizing dynamic node weighting and spatial-temporal analysis to efficiently allocate patrol resources while maximizing coverage of high-risk poaching areas.

Wild Sky Financial Estimate Tool for Ranchers

Engineered and deployed a financial estimation tool to help mobilize the American Prairie's Wild Sky program, educating and empowering Montana ranchers to adopt conservation strategies through monetary incentives. Involved extensive research on agricultural practices and regional biodiversity across Montana's 56 counties.

Life Amongst Nomads

Life Amongst Nomads

Arriving in Mongolia with no clear plan, I befriended a nomadic community in the central steppe and immersed myself in their way of life. In what sincerely feels like one of the last global frontiers, I took note of their sense of tradition and inheritance as their culture once paved way for the largest empire in human history.

Searching For Ghosts

Searching For Ghosts

Wanting to challenge the logic behind setting 'impossible' or unrealistic goals I rented a 400mm camera lens and hitch-hiked 1000 km into the Gobi Desert with the mission of photographing a snow leopard. What followed was an experience filled with some of the best, worst, funniest, and most uncertain moments of my life.

A Single Procession

A Single Procession

With little money and free time, I've taken up jobs like pyrotechnics and commercial fishing to make ideas come to life. These jobs became experiences in their own right, grappling with demanding work in harsh conditions. But the stories you collect and the people you meet make it all worthwhile. Each job isn't just a way to earn a living, but a passage through different worlds, with their own lessons, challenges, and unforgettable moments.

Origin Stories

Origin Stories

The struggles of our ancestors, the cultures we emerge from, and the challenges we've faced all weave together to form a narrative that can help us find our path. When we take the time to reflect on our origins, not just in a biological or geographical sense, but in terms of the values, lessons, and influences that have shaped us, we uncover deeper motivations that drive us forward.
